Keeping the Security in Smart Home Security
A brand that doesn’t embody and deliver the fundamental aspects of protection may just be a security provider in name only. New entrants to the smart home and security category are freely self-applying the “security” moniker, but there are real definitions of security that many new brands fall short of. A security brand provides people with protection even when they’re not able to watch over their things and loved ones themselves. Security brands are recognized and trusted by other industry colleagues, like insurance companies, to deliver real protection. Rigorous testing is applied to their products so the hardware and software is secure themselves. Real security providers use customers’ data responsibly, maintain it securely and protect customer privacy. Smart home security brands can embody all these characteristics, but to protect the industry’s integrity and maintain consumer trust, we have to hold them to these standards of real protection.
